Xiaomi has launched another budget device in India under ₹10,000 named Redmi 4 which is the successor to the last year Redmi 3S. The Redmi 4 flaunts a 5-inch IPS HD display covered with a 2.5D curved scratch resistant glass. The phone literally packs the best design for this budget, it has a metal body with a tapered design and rounded corners. Weighs about 150 grams and 5-inch size, it’s extremely comfortable to hold. You might be familiar with its design since it shares the design language from the Redmi Note 4.

It is powered by a massive 4,000 mAH battery which should give you roughly a 2-day battery life, thanks to its HD display and power efficient processor. The battery can last 2 days and 18 hours standby according to Xiaomi. The Redmi 4 comes with the MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Surprisingly, it supports the new Android Nougat preview out of the box.

Moving to the cameras on the phone, I think the camera package is decent given the price. It boasts a 13 MP f/2.0 camera on the rear side with LED flash of course and a 5 MP f/2.2 camera on the front side. Both the cameras can capture 1080p videos.

The bottom has three capacitive navigation buttons but they do not light up. On the back, the Redmi 4 has got a fingerprint scanner which can do various things like locking apps with your fingerprints, unlocking the second space with different fingers. What has changed is the loudspeakers placement, it is now relocated to the bottom adding up to its ergonomic design.

Like its predecessor Redmi 3S, the Redmi 4 sports an IR Blaster on top or controlling your infrared-enabled devices such as TV, Air Conditioner, etc. and also a 3.5 mm port on top for plugging in any earphones. The bottom has a Micro USB port and loudspeakers. There are two microphones both on the top and on the bottom.

I really like the buttons feedback, the volume buttons and power key on the right fits perfectly on the thumb. The Hybrid SIM tray is located on the left. It supports 4G LTE network, Micro + Nano SIM (GSM + GSM) or it can be used as a single SIM with a MicroSD card on SIM 2.
